Emergency Medical Services for Children

EMSC is a national initiative designed to reduce child and youth disability and death due to severe illness and injury. Medical personnel, parents and volunteers, community groups and businesses, and national organizations and foundations all contribute to the effort. A federal grant program supports state and local action.

Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments

MWCOG is a nonprofit organization comprised of 17 local governments around Washington, D.C. and members of the Maryland and Virginia legislatures, U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. The Council deals with issues of the environment, affordable housing, economic development, health and family concerns, human services, population growth, public safety and transportation.
